Sensors for Portable Gas Detectors

PID Sensor Technology

PID sensors are the ideal choice for detecting low concentrations of volatile organic compounds.

  • Detection of volatile organic compounds in low concentrations
  • Compatible with: X-am 7000 and X-am 8000 - selective benzene measurement with pre-tubes possible
  • Measuring range: in ppm and ppb range

Highlights

Tracking volatile organic compounds in the ppm and ppb range

The PID (photoionisation detector) sensors complete the DrägerSensor lineup in the field of detecting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the ppm or ppb ranges. Therefore, they are a useful addition to workplace monitoring with multi-gas detectors i n certain applications.

Many different applications

PID sensors can be used in a variety of ways, such as for clearance measurements during shutdowns in the chemical and petrochemical industries, monitoring work in shafts and confined spaces, leak detection, and many other applications.

Benzene-specific detection

Selective benzene detection can be carried out using the Dräger X-am 8000 in combination with the benzene pre-tube. The pre-tube filters out all hydrocarbons present except for benzene.

Durable design

The Dräger PID measuring devices are equipped with water-repellent membranes to protect the integrated PID sensor during industrial use. The PID sensors also have very short response times and provide a rapid warning.

Adjustment and response factors

The PID sensors are adjusted quickly and simply using isobutene. Isobutene is a harmless gas that is available in practical, disposable test gas cylinders. The sensitivity for the monitored substance can then be set individually using response factor s. This means that adjustments can be made right there at any time.

Optimised for use

The PID sensors are optimised for use with Dräger gas detection devices developed in-house. This allows the full performance of the PID sensors to be utilised.
